A question across years of documents.
An authorised family-office analyst needs to compare reporting obligations across several structures. The assistant retrieves relevant passages from approved deeds and agreements, cites the source documents, and prepares a comparison for professional review. Records outside the analyst’s mandate remain outside retrieval.
How answers are tested.
Before handover, your nominated users write test questions drawn from real work. Each question names the document that should answer it. The firm agrees the pass threshold before the tests run.
- The system retrieves the expected document and cites it.
- Where approved material holds no answer, the system says so instead of composing one.
- Run under each role, the tests show no restricted record in retrieved passages or answers.
- The tests run again after any model or index change, so the firm can see whether quality holds.
A clear boundary.
Local processing is one control among many. The design must address identity, prompt injection, physical access, backups and maintenance. A physically air-gapped enclave is specified only where its operating constraints match the work; a VLAN alone is not an air gap.
